I work independently offering competitively priced services
My background and experience as a professional working in the charitable sector gave me the drive and ambition to provide a friendly, competitively priced service for families who are involved in caring for a relative.
I now work on a private client basis assisting individuals and families involved in the care of a relative, they do not need to have dementia to access my service.

A carers support group in Croydon
I am a Member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers and I have a small network of Professionals that I refer to for independent financial advice for Care Home Funding.
I am passionate about people understanding the financial implications that come with dementia
Andrea Scott has worked for over 5 years for a National
dementia charity in Croydon supporting families and people with dementia; she regularly
facilitated carers support groups and run a training programme for carers. Her previous work experience includes setting
up a cafe for carers in Lewisham & Greenwich which she project
coordinated. She also worked as a
Volunteer Manager supporting people with a visual impairment in Bromley.
She worked part-time as a Company Secretary and qualified
bookkeeper for over 20 years alongside these roles periodically.
After gaining a wealth of experience in this area Andrea decided to set up her own company to work independently as a Dementia Care Consultant. Her motivation for doing this was to ensure people have access to consistent, independent, accurate information and continuing support. She now gives personalised ongoing support to family carers who are suddenly faced with a diagnosis of dementia or are struggling to support someone whose dementia has progressed. This support includes an understanding of dementia and how to support someone including the services available. She also offers guidance around the complex social care system. Her specialist subject is around finances and ensuring care is paid for correctly; this includes ensuring her clients claim non means tested benefits where applicable. She is passionate about supporting families who are faced with caring for their loved ones with dementia and knows from experience that having the correct support, legal and financial information at the beginning can prevent families from having the stress and cost of having to go to the Court of Protection later on. She strives to make sure that her clients feel supported during a very difficult time in their lives. As dementia progresses she is there to provide ongoing support meaning that her clients have ‘one point of contact’ at all times.
